Federal Signal 2T22

Interesting facts about the 2T22

The 2T22 is an omnidirectional siren that was produced by Federal Signal Corporation from 1955 to 1992. They have two rotors producing two different tones at the same time, powered by a 10hp dual shaft motor. Both rotors measure 15 inches in diameter, and are identical to the rotors used on the Model 5 and 2001 sirens. Models were available in single and three phase versions. Three phase models used either a GE (early) or Marathon 10 horsepower motor. A fully assembled siren weighs close to 700 pounds, including the pole mount bracket. This mini siren is 1/5 scale fully functional version of the 2T22 omnidirectional siren that was produced by Federal Signal Corporation from 1955 to 1992. In contrast to the real ones which are powered by 10hp motors, this mini 2T22 is only 1/40th hp and runs on 120v AC household power.
